About Me

This site will chronicle my reaction to current issues and trends within the industry and general current events.

I’m a young professional who works hard and dreams big. I currently hold an MBA in Management and a BA in Public Relations and consider myself a bit of a smarty pants, though I won’t really admit to it.

I enjoy exploring new forms of media and social networking tools. It’s really anything and everything for me, basically, but it’s on my own terms - not because it’s the “it” thing. In addition, I really love a challenge and a cupcake from Dozen, or a good Starbucks nonfat vanilla latte and bagel. Not too hard to please, I always say.

I don’t consider a day worthwhile unless I learn something new. For instance, the other day I was watching “I love the 70s” on VH1 Classic. Totally learned the BeDazzler has been around that long. Yep. I thought all along that it was a cheesy infomorcial concocted during the last five or so years. Where have I been the past 25 years of my life?!

One day, I’d like to help others in the same way that others have helped me. I’d actually like to teach an Intro to PR course and hopefully motivate students to become as excited about pursuing a career in PR as I am. In the meantime, I’m just trying to learn as much as I can, build relationships and slowly take over the world. Oh wait, wro-, no, really. :)

P.S. Neither of the links are clients, though I would totally do PR for Dozen for free. Well, payment in kind of delectable Cosmo cupcakes would be accepted, too.

Hi Jennifer!

Just wanted to say welcome! :) I’m one of Robert’s students at Auburn. I’ve read through your posts and enjoyed all your insights — so I thought I’d make a general “hello” comment on your About page.

Thumbs up to you for trying to get your campus involved in the relief efforts for Katrina. I’m involved in something similar here. It’s especially helpful for PR people to help get the ball rolling … because we’re particularly skilled in that regard. So good luck with that!

Take care!

Erin
